![]() ![]() Maybe it has changed on the newer devices and iOS versions. And the Kobo app is at whatever version is available for that iOS version. This is an old iPad Air with iOS version 12.5.5 on it. I tried this a couple of times with the same result. When I tried again, with the app open, the book did appear in the "Recently Added" section of the home page. That opened the app but the book didn't appear. Which is why I suggested asking in the question in one of the other locations.īut, as an experiment, I tried opening a book from the calibre server on my iPad and sending it to the Kobo app. But, unless the file has been damaged downloading it from calibre, it is not calibre that has the issues. Calibre companion is (probably) using iOS functions to open the file, iOS then presents the apps the file can be opened in and then passes the file to that app. At that point, calibre stops being involved. Opening a book in the way you are means that Calibre Companion has downloaded the book from calibre. ![]() It was developed by someone who is involved in calibre development but has since been passed to other developers. Calibre Companion was the closest to being a "calibre app". It is an app created that works with calibre, or the calibre library. Any app running on iOS or Android is not a "calibre app". I've done it for a number of years, it's weird.Īs I stated, this question belongs elsewhere. Kobo happily syncs books not purchase via them, I download through Project Gutenberg, upload to Calibre on my PC then transfer the books to the Calibre app on my iPad then load them into Kobo. That's why I wondered why it quit working. ![]() It's never been an issue before, I've added hundreds this way. I've always added books to the Kobo iOS app via Calibre, that's how I read them. ![]()
